Reflections
To complete MLO 6, capstone course (WLC 400) is a good example that meets all the requirements. For example, WLC course is required to work on a project, which researching and writing are the basic elements that need to be done throughout the course, so, get familiar with the library is a must, because through the library, the student will be able to find all the materials and information that are helpful for the project. Therefore, I learned how to work well with both the library and the library website through the capstone course, since the library is the main source that I will be used to find all my research information. For example, I was able to check out books and other materials that are able to help me for my capstone project through the school's library, and through the library website, I was able to search all kinds of books and articles, as well as reserve and check out books online, even the items are not available in our school's library, but at other universities, I can still borrow it from them. Also, some books are provided with electronic version, which allow me to read whenever I can and as many times as I want. Overall, the library is a great source of finding information.
Furthermore, school's library is not the only place that I can find all the research information, because the library is not always have all the sources that I am looking for, or sometime, it doesn't provide enough information about my project, therefore, I can always do research outside of the library, which is through online. In addition, I learned how to distinguish which type of source is useful and usable for a scholarly work, and with all the information that I have gathered within and outside of the library, I was able to organize all the information, as well as analyze and summarize it briefly.
Overall, learning how to do a research is a really good way for the student to learn, because the students not only can explore and get deeper into the topic, they can also learn all types of researching skills and computer knowledge, which help the students get used of the technology, as well as helping them to write and present the information to the public. As a result, doing an interesting topic can motivate the students to learn more.
