Reflections
Through this course, I have learned about the vocabulary that is common use in the area of business or use in everyday life, such as job application and working condition. For example, sample 1 is one of the homework that I have done for this course, and we mainly focus on the types of employers and employees, as well as work environment. As in sample 1, there are three different activities, where each activity is focused on something that related to work. In the first part, for instance, we form a complete sentence by using a group of words that has been provided in the activity. Then, the second part, we do some Spanish translation for the Mexican manager, which help him understand better about the recommendation letter that sends from the American applicants. On the last part, we focus on the grammar, where we fill in the blank by using the present tense of subjunctive.
Other than the vocabulary that can be use for everyday life, I also learned about the situation that occurred throughout the world, such as financial service and business market. As in sample 2, it’s mainly focus on the bank and financial service. On the first part of this sample, I learned all the terms that are often used in the world of finance, and by using my own words, I was able to define and explain all the terms. On the second part of the sample, I was able to translate the commercial passage into English.
Overall, I was able to understand better about the business field, as well as the Spanish culture, and I also able to make a good use of Spanish for my future professions.
