WLC 400: Senior Capstone
Objectives
All Spanish majors will be required to enroll in the Senior Capstone learning experience (WLC 400), and complete a major Capstone project encompassing the Spanish language and some aspect of Hispanic cultures. The Capstone Project is the student’s opportunity to demonstrate depth of knowledge and advanced linguistic skills.
Students work with the instructor and WLC faculty advisors to research, synthesize, write and present their Capstone projects. Students will also assemble a Graduation Portfolio reflecting how each MLO was met.

Reflections
WLC 400 is a capstone course that required all the students to work on a project and present it to the public, and through the project, the student will be able to determine the level of Spanish skills, such as speaking and writing. In addition, language major's students are now required to take pre-capstone (SPAN 300) before the capstone course, which is much more advantage for those who take it, because it helps students to prepare for their capstone project, as well as the e-portfolio.
Throughout the capstone course, I learned how to work well with both the library and online library, since the library is the main source that I will be used to find all my research information. Through the library, I was able to check out books and other materials that are able to help me for my capstone project, and through the online library, I was able to search all kinds of books and articles, as well as able to check out books that are available at other universities. Some books are provided with electronic version, which allow me to read online. Overall, the library is a great source of finding information.
Other than capstone project, e-portfolio is also a major task that needs to be done through this course, where the students create their own website and write a reflection that is based on the school terms, major requirements, and overall experience. E-portfolio was created since the first semester that I studied at CSUMB, and all the details were built little by little at the end of every semester, which I wrote a narrative reflection, as well as provided some work examples that show what I have learned and how it's reflected for the selected course.
